Queen Amara is a Buzzkin who currently leads the largest of the Buzzkin hives and hold dominion over sever smaller hives. As a youth, she was taken captive by one of the warring human tribes during an invasion of her hive. Intended as a concubine, she was instead forced to compete in the gladitorial arenas when she refused to be dominated by her new "husband". She taught herself to fight in the pits, and even developed the ability to channel her body's bio-electric energies into a form of a nasty "stinger" attack. After many years of fighting, she won her freedom from pits and returned to her hive, only to find it decemated and her people dying. Some unknown affliction had befallen the Buzzkins in her absence, lowering the birth rates of Buzzkin Queens. Amara soon discovered the cause: a band of adventurers had accidentally unleashed a deadly plague from the ruins containing birthing vats originally used by ancient mages to create the Buzzkin race. Worse, the warring human tribes had continued to prey upon the weakened Buzzkin, quickening their slide towards extinction. Determined to save her people, Amara directed the surviving Buzzkin Drones to rebuild her hive, and selected the strongest from among them to breed with. The new generation which she spawned was unlike any other in Buzzkin history. Amara's defiant spirit had bred true in her children, giving birth to the first of the new warrior breed of Buzzkin. Trained in the "stinger" attack and more independent than the average Buzzkin, Amara's new warriors quickly helped to enarge her hive. Stealing a tactic from the humans, Amara set about expanding her influence by using her warriors to seize control of other nearby hives. Her warriors have also proven useful in creating expeditions into the ruins to which the Buzzkins trace their origins in an effort to find a cure for the plague and weapons which she may use against the warring human tribes which threaten her hive network. Even now, Amara makes plans to expand her influence, discover a cure for the Buzzkin plague, and exact her revenge upon the human tribes...
