SQ eat anything, ferocity, frightful presence, never give ground
Eat anything (Ex) The Aptalion's high metabolism combined with it magically strengthened digestive system lets it ear and gain nutrition from just about anything organic. This was of great use when they were arena-creatures but it has given them an amazing ability to survive in the wild.
Never give ground (Ex) The Aptalion has +2 to it CMD to resist bull's rush and trip attacks and a +4 racial bonus to resist Fear effects.
The Aptalion is a voracious forest-dwelling predator first bred for the arenas of Sascria. It is hyper-aggressive and surprisingly powerful for a creature that isn't much larger than a lion. It has a boar-like snout and a beard like a goat; its front legs end in cloven hooves and its rear legs resemble a heavy-scaled reptile. The Aptalion has two large serrated horns and a very powerful neck, enabling it to knock down small trees given time, and to use the horns as well as a stout kick in combat. The Aptalion delights in hunting, and it will commonly kill prey larger than itself, and only eat the choicest parts, leaving the rest for scavengers.
