This is a school of magic in Sacria that is focused on necromancy.

The Collapse of arcane magic caused a great deal of calamity, but in the case of the few Liches in Gondal, it represented a threat to their very existence.  Given that Liches become what they are because of a superhuman attachment to their own existence, a will that cheats even death, they were some of the first to develop methods for perpetuating themselves.  It was the Liches of the School of Eternity, under the direction of the Queen of Bones, who fist developed the techniques used to steal living energy to power arcane spells.

As long as there has been a Sacrian magocracy, there have been various organizations centered on different aspects of arcane magic vying for power.  One of those was the School of Eternity, which focuses on the arcane school of necromancy.  They began their path to power with the desire simply to live forever - find ways to master death so that they would be able to transcend it.

The School has always attracted those with very strong wills and with more than a healthy fear of their own mortality.  They may have ambition that reaches into infinity, or they may have set tasks for themselves that far outstrip a single normal human lifetime.

The first among them, long ago, to achieve immortality, is now known as the Queen of Bones.  All those who knew her previous name have long since crumbled to ash, either dying naturally long ago, or as the victims of her powerful spells.  Mortal leaders in the School come and go, but it is well known who they all answer to.

What is not well known is that her phylactery has been found.

Officially, the head of the School of Eternity, and the Chancellor of Sascria, is Katrina Esca, the Eternal Lady.  While she is not undead, she has retained her youth far longer than nature had in mind, and she seems to have remained to undergo whatever process this depends on even in the wake of the Collapse (though after the Collapse, she was nowhere to be found for the first few months).
