This is a new map of Gondal that I am working to create. There is also an older bitmap version. And yes, this is a VERY large continent. For comparison, the United States is about 2500 miles across from California to North Carolina.

It looks, then, thinner and

It looks, then, thinner and 'taller' than the US, more oriented like South America (and maybe the same size) or Africa (but about a third smaller).

Out of curiosity, where is the Equator on this map? Does it cut the continent in half, or is part of it far into the northern or southern hemisphere?

Answered my own question

Sorry, just checked the old map and answered my own question - mostly. It looks like the continent is solidly in the northern hemisphere, with the Equator lying somewhere south of the map and the north end of the map being permafrost, or nearly so.

Common questions

These are the FAQs about the map:

1) Is this the entire world?
2) Are there other continents?

It might be worth having some polls to make these decisions as I have no strong feelings either way.

Copy of Map

Is there a way to get a copy of the map I can put on my computer?

I hope there will be other continents (I think they are called expansion packs - hehe).

Do you have Campaign Cartographer?

If so, I can send you the source file. Send me your email address in a private message.

Send it ...

Mike,

Send me the CC3 map and I can make some added tweaks using my painted references. I Hope to upload those soon. Depending on how yu have the layers set up this may not take too awfully long to get a working model going.

I added a link to download it. I'm a novice, so let me know if it's what you need.

There is a viewer for CC3 stuff

The guys at ProFantasy software (makers of the Campaign Cartographer product and a great buncha fellows) have a free viewer that can read the *.FCW files created in CC3 and in the Dungeon and City creator add ons. it is located on their site at http://www.profantasy.com/library/dpv.asp

Got it ...

I will cut and chop and set the thing back up there for review. May take a bit because I am painting the regions first to get a feel for the place. I have started a project on Eastern League, but wanted to link a large copy of the painting. There are larger copies and, sadly, my flatbed did not get the entire image -

Wow!

I just gotta say that I love that we have you on board. These are awesome even though I know they aren't your final product. :)
