I am planning to organize a design and chat session on RPG settings at Winter War in January. Would anyone else like to participate and join me? Here is the description I'm thinking.
Building and adding to an RPG setting is one of the rewarding activities for role-playing game GMs and players alike. In this session, we will be discussing RPG setting construction in theory as well as putting some ideas to use to create or flesh out ideas for a new RPG setting. Mike Bohlmann from bySwarm will be there to facilitate. For newcomers to bySwarm, the company has created an environment by which aspiring game designers as well as regular GMs and players can work together to create a fun and expansive role-playing game setting.

Winter's Blight - Saturday, 8pm to midnight
The Khadoran occupying army has been able to relax for a few months in Laedry now that the Llaelese Resistance has been mostly suppressed. Something is going on though to the north of the city as patrols have come under guerrilla-style hit and run attacks from unknown forces. Some of those that have returned from these patrols have reported feeling ill but with no signs of physical ailments. Prince Vladimir of Umbrey has dispatched a rag tag group of Khadoran troops to investigate and put an end to whatever is behind the attacks. This game is set in the Iron Kingdoms by Privateer Press.

I may not be the best to help out, but I'd be interested in helping if I can. I have to admit though, that I am not familiar with Winter War.
Winter War
It's a pretty decently sized con in Champaign in late January each year. The next one is January 29-31, 2010. It's primarily a gaming con rooted in miniature war gaming. However, there is a probably a good even split now between miniatures games, board games, and RPGs.
